My husband bought me this bush when we first moved back to Raleigh in 2001. Every year it blooms 2 or 3 times during the summer and it looks like a ball of popcorn. The fragrance is wonderful...it reminds me of my mom who is with the Lord now...this was her favorite flower.

I used to find gardenias to sickening with their fragrance, but when I was teaching first grade one year, I had some children who were not too clean. Occasionally someone would give me a gardenia, so I would pin it on my dress or blouse so that when needed, I could just bend my head down and "freshen" the air around me.
It does look like popcorn! Do the flowers smell as good as they look? I might eat them...;)
